The Wages of Sin is?

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2.

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:15.

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:16.

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:19.

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezekiel 18:4.

“As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.” Ezekiel 18:18.

“But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.” Ezekiel 18:21.

Ezekiel 18 is a chapter that clearly explains who shall die for their sins. Not once does it talk about burning for eternity. Death is final. Nevermore to be. This chapter is an eye-opener to the reality of sin and to the reality of the righteous, which is in Christ Jesus. Study Ezekiel chapter 18 with prayer, asking for God’s Holy Spirit to guide you in Christ Jesus, that you will clearly see and understand the message of the precepts that God has given us.

Regards our eternal statis, when Jesus comes again, it’s our choice, we are the ones that choose which path to walk in, we can only choose a life in Christ or choose death in sin. Neither the Godhead bodily, nor any other person can make that choice for us. God, Christ and the Holy Spirit has done all to save mankind and continues to draw all man, as Jesus said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32. It is written, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” 1Peter 3:18. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” Galatians 3:13.

Now, in saying all this, it really helps to explain that when people reject Christ our Lord and Saviour, and choose sin, the wages of that choice is death. In saying that, it is written that, “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” Ecclesiastes 9:5. How then is it possible that people believe that sinner’s will burn forever and ever, into eternity? Death is the result of sin.

God is a loving God, yet He hates sin. The sad part is God does not like death. However, when it comes to the wages of sin, which is death, once this takes place, death will be destroy by God. It will be the last enemy to be destroyed. As it is written, “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:26.

The wages of sin will be paid in full. For this to happen, death will not be destroyed until, the wages are fully paid. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. The wages of sin is death, and the result of death is permanent.

Choose the gift of God, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Please do not choose the wages of sin. Live for Jesus and obey His Commandments. For He said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15. Do this with all thy heart, soul, and mind, as “Jesus said, …  Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Matthew 22:37.

I pray and hope, dear reader, that we will both live for God the father, through Christ Jesus our Saviour, being filled by the Holy Spirit, which is given to us by God, through Christ in whom all things are given. For Christ paid the price for our sins, for those that truly believe that Jesus is who He is.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.
