A Thousand Years in Heaven and Sabbath

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8

The same precept is shown in Psalms 90:4 as it is in 2 Peter 3:8,

“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.” Psalms 90:4.

“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:6. Please read verses 3-6 as well.

The creation week is an example of the years of earth. According to the prophecies in scriptures, the earth is so close to the end of the six thousand years from the time Satan deceived Eve and sin came to be. We are now at the tip of the toes of the example given in Daniel chapter 2.

The creation week is made up of six days. Then on the Seventh day of the week God rested & blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it, which means, made it Holy. God rested from all his work which he created and made. Study Genesis chapters 1 and 2.

Those who are Christians, believe in the biblical timeline regarding the age of the earth in which we live. The biblical time from the beginning to now is around 6 thousand years of age since sin began. Christians believe with all the heart and mind that the Word of God is true, and that the second coming of Christ is not far; it is nearer than we probably realise. The second coming of Christ will happen, it will happen unawares to all, just as a thief coming in the night. “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2. No one knows the time, nor hour, of Christ’s second coming, yet it will happen. We may not know when Christ Jesus is to return, but we can rest assured that God knows. He knows all things and His Word ensures us of the truth. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matthew 24:35-36. God’s Word is true; it will not fail us. We can hold to the truth of God’s Word without the fear.

Please Study and Read, Matthew 24:42-44; Matthew 25:13; Mark 13:34-35; Luke 12:39-40; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 3:3; Revelation 16:15.

Revelation 20:6, tells us those who take part in the first resurrection shall reign with Christ a thousand years.

For the 6 days God created the earth and the heavens, Satan has had a thousand years for each day. In total, Satan will have had the full 6 thousand years by the time Jesus comes. Satan has done as much as he can to destroy as many souls as he can in that time. Yet when it comes to the 7th day, the day God rested on at the end of the creation week, the 7th thousand years will also be a time of rest. On the 7th day according to the scriptures it is called Sabbath, a day of rest. Rest and Sabbath are the same, the day God blessed and sanctified. Everyone in that thousand years rest, will rest from sin. Those who are Christ Children will rest with Him in Heaven for a thousand years. Those who do not take part in the thousand years of rest in heaven, at the first resurrection, will be in the grave till the end of the thousand years. Yes, even Satan himself will rest from his torment towards the human race, from deceiving the nations of this earth. Satan will be the only one alive that did not go to rest in heaven. He will be all alone, in his own torment, of loneliness, as Revelation explains in chapter 20 verses 1-6.

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:1-6.

Satan has done his best to destroy the truth of the Sabbath day of rest. The day that was set to complete the weekly 7-day cycle, Satan has deceived many to believe that this blessed and sanctified day was done away with. Those who fall into this trap and reject the 7th day Sabbath, the day of rest, as the scriptures has said, they will not know, nor take part of the blessed rest of the thousand years with Christ Jesus in Heaven. All will rest in the 7th thousand years, but only those who are Christ will know about it. The only one who will know outside of God’s Children, is Satan himself. Those who had fallen into unforgiven sin and rejected Christ, which is the full Word of God that holds the truth of the 7th day Sabbath, which is also set in the midst of the Ten Commandments; those who reject that which it contains, will sleep in the grave throughout the thousand years of rest.

Revelation 20:7-15 explains what happens at the end of the thousand years. To understand more on these verses 7-15, or even verses 1-6 it really helps to understand what the Scriptures teach regarding the meaning of death and hell. Read about this subject here.

When we ask God in prayer for understanding, He guides and leads us in His Word with His Holy Spirit. All will come together in truth when we believe Him at His Word; we shall see what God has truly written. We will be forever learning and growing in our relationship with God. So never give up. Never reject what God has written. Build upon the precepts God has given. Note Isaiah 28:10. Rest assured that God does not do away with His Word. Some things come to an end, like the sanctuary services and practices for they pointed to Christ coming as our Lamb and sacrifice. Christ did come and fulfilled that which pointed to Him as our Lamb and sacrifice in the sanctuary sacrificial service. There are many spiritual things we can learn from the sanctuary that still apply for us today. Yet God never does away with His Holy Word, which includes the creation week and the Ten Commandments which was written on stone. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35. The Word of God was not just for the children of Israel, nor were they just for the people of God who walk in them. The Word of God, which includes the Ten Commandments, were written for the world to follow and obey.  When we study Exodus 20:8-11, we will see they were from the very beginning. Note that the 7th day Sabbath, the day of rest came from, it came from the end of creation. We need to read and study it for ourselves, with prayer asking for God’s guidance and leading of His Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name, God will open our eyes to His truth. Yet it requires us to be humble, to be willing to unlearn, that we may learn afresh, as it is written.

6 days of creation, with 1 day of rest set by God; Gives us a 7-day weekly cycle. We have 6 days of work and 1 day of rest with God. Sunday to Friday make up the 6 days of work and Saturday is the Sabbath of rest with God. Sunday is the first day of the week. However, man, under Satan’s control, has made it part of the weekend of the working week. Instead of Saturday as the last day of the weekend, they changed it, placing Sunday as the last day. Then putting Monday as the first day of the weekly work cycle. There was no reason why they could not put Friday and Saturday as the weekend. Except for wanting to change times and laws as the scriptures explains. “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” Daniel 7:25. The word “weekend” itself is designed to confuse people regarding which day is the end of the week.

For the beginning of sin on this earth, to now, the time is almost at the end. The end of the 6th thousand years. Although we know not when the exact time is, we have the evidence of what is written in the scriptures, and what’s happening all around the World today. We can be rest assured that the scriptures are very clear, there will be an end, and there will be a thousand years of rest for God’s people, as it is written in the Scriptures.

Therefore, we must come to the understanding that God has not done away with the Sabbath rest. “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:1-16.

Come and rest on the 7th day with God. Come and Sabbath with our Creator and Saviour. Come in the name of Jesus, in whom gives the gift of the Holy Spirit. Come and prepare for the Sabbath throughout the preparation hours of the 6th day. Rest with God in faith of His Word, that we may be found ready to rest with Him in the thousand years when Christ returns to take His people home. Do not let anyone deceive you otherwise. The Word of God stands “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” Isaiah 46:10.

Oh, LORD my God “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.” Psalms 25:5.

“(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” 2 Corinthians 6:2.

“But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8.

Make the stand, for truth, believe the Sabbath is required of God’s people, from the beginning to the end. I hope to meet you in the time of rest in Heaven. I pray we will be there together.
