We all love to hear of good tidings. Though in today’s world, we hear of bad and unpleasant news, and good tidings are exceedingly rare. The bad and unpleasant news we hear of today is not only from our local surrounds, and not only from the country we live in, but we also hear of the bad and unpleasant news from around the entire world. We are not to be deceived. Christ did not leave His faithful without hope or knowledge of the end times. In the book of Matthew, we have a whole chapter that tells us of the dreadful things that are going to happen in the last days. And yes, these things are happening today, we are living in the last days now; in the very toes of the prophetic warning that has been given in chapter 2 of the book of Daniel. Yet in the chapter of Matthew, Christ also gave good tidings. Please read chapter 24 of the book of Matthew.
So many people are focusing on the miserable things of the signs of the times and share these main points of the doom and gloom on their social forums, instead of reminding others of the joy to come. Surely people must feel very much like Job when he said, “I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.” Job 16:2.
In Matthew 24 we have comforting verses that give us hope and joy, such as verses 13 and 14. “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” And note the following verses, starting with verse 27, For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Verses 30-35, And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:30-35.

Certainly, we need to take heed to the things happening around us. However, remember the LORD said in his Word, “watch therefore.” Therefore, we are to watch, not dwell on them. To watch, is to take note of what is happening around us. We are to watch, take heed and to be sober minded, not drunk on the bad and unpleasant news which destroys hope and joy. Christ said, “when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” Therefore, we need to fill our hearts and minds with the Word of God that gives us strength and peace in a time of need. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1; The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Psalms 28:7-8. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalms 73:26.

Please study the following verses. Psalms 16:7-9; 18:1-2; 27:5; 31:24; 33:18; 46:1, 11; 62:2; 130:5; Nahum 1:7; John 8:12; 14:15-21, 26-28; Romans 8:25; Titus 2:13.
When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, through Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit our comforter, will bring all things to remembrance God has shared with us from His Word: this will give us peace of heart and mind, in Christ’s strength. We know the end times will be hard, that is why we so very much need to take heed to the good tidings in the scriptures. When we study and believe the Word of God, which is “The Truth,” we are made free, through Christ Jesus, even though the burdens of these times are pressing on every side. Christ is our strength, the truth is our strength, in whom Christ is. Jesus saith …, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6. Jesus also said, to those Jews which believed on him, and which also applies to us of those who are adopted into the fold of Abraham’s seed, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32.
Listen to the Words Jesus said to give comfort to His people, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3. The psalmist said, … “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalms 30:5.
Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. Isaiah 52:5-8.

At the time of Christ Birth, the angels came and gave good tidings to the shepherds in the fields, the good tidings that our Saviour was born. Now, today, it is the time for the shepherds of Christ flock to give the good tidings of Christ soon return. Today, in these last days, the shepherds of God that walk in His field and keep all the Ten Commandments with all their hearts and mind; they are to go out and tell of Christ soon return. This is to give, all who would believe, hope, and to lead as many who would believe, through Christ, into the field of God. As it was good tidings to hear of Christ’s first coming, so it is good tidings to hear of Christ’s second return to take His faithful home. Knowing Christ is coming gives us hope and joy, and those in Christ Jesus, their hope and joy will be fulfilled when they see Christ coming that blessed morning. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.

Have this Hope and Joy ever engraved upon the inner parts of thy heart. That thy mind will ever be fixed on the prize to come, for the faithful that keep, and obey, the commandments of God, in Christ Jesus. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5.
Share more of the good tidings of the blessed Hope, and the Joy of the promise that Jesus is coming again to take us home. Yes, people need to know the truth of the signs of the times. Yet, give the good tidings of the Hope and Joy of Christ soon return in abundance.
Always remember when talking about the end time events in today’s world, remember these following words. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7.
