The Book of Ruth.

Part One.

Gleaning in the Field of God.

  • The book of Ruth is a book from the scriptures that is a nice read. It teaches us how beautiful relationships can be when we walk with God. We get the understanding of the reasoning for its purpose at the end of the book. Which is the genealogy of Ruth and Boaz’s lineage to the coming King David, then to the Promised King, the Lamb of God which was to come to take away the sin of the world, our Saviour, Jesus the Christ.
  • Yet there is more to the book of Ruth then we may realize. The book of Ruth has important lessons for us to learn, lessons that we can hold onto, in our relationship with God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • This Study is going to go deep into the word of God. You will need to look up and read the scriptures given, that you will be able to understand the message presented before you. Therefore, please take time to pray, and ask for the leading of the Holy Spirit, praying in the name of Jesus.
    • For God said, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”  Jeremiah 33:3.
    • Dear Heavenly Father,
    • Please fill me with Thy Holy Spirit, as I read and study Thy Holy Scriptures. Please help me to see great and mighty things, which I knowest not. I pray and ask in your beloved Son’s name, Jesus Christ, my Saviour. Amen.
  • Please read the scriptures given, especially from a King James Bible. This way you can make sure of the things been said are true, as the King James is the Bible been used in this study. By looking up the scriptures given, you will get a deeper blessing, as you will be reading from God’s Word, and not just about God’s Word.
  • In the scriptures we learn that there are stories given that help us to learn and see types. Meaning, a type for God, type of Christ, of the Holy Spirit, the Angels and of Heavenly things, and so on.
  • Like King Darius was a Type for God, in that he could not change his own laws. These laws were sealed by the King’s ring, and they could not be changed. God wrote His Law with His finger in Stone, meaning His Law, the Ten Commandments, could not, and cannot, be changed; His Law will stand forever.
    • Read Daniel 6:6-27; Exodus 24:12; 31:18; 34:1-4. Deuteronomy 4:13; 5:22; 5:9-11; 10:1-3; Ecclesiastes 3:14; Malachi 3:6.
  • Another example is, the Sanctuary was a type of the Heavenly Sanctuary, for the earthly sanctuary was made in the patten of the Heavenly.
    • Read Exodus 25:9, 40; Hebrews 8:5.
  • Just as the unblemished lamb that was slain for sacrifice, was a type for what role Christ Himself would fulfill.
    • See Genesis 3:15, 21; 4:4; Exodus 12:5; John1:29. Living water is a type for the Holy Spirit. John 7:37-39.
  • When we go deeper into the Word of God, we learn that a woman in scripture can be a type for the Pure Church of God; as also, a woman can be a type for the corrupt apostate church.
    • For the Pure Woman/Church, Read Jeremiah 6:2; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23-33.
    • For the Corrupt Woman/Church, see Ezekiel 16:15-58; 23:2-21; Hosea 2:5; 3:1; Rev14:4.
  • And a Church is a type for the People of God that join the faith.
    • See Acts 2:47; 11:24; Romans 8:30; 9:27.
  • An Angel represents a Messenger.
    • Daniel 8:16; 9:21: Luke 1:19, 26; Hebrews 1:1-14.
  • Using the rule of the precepts above regarding types, I would like to draw your attention to Ruth Chapter 2. Please read this Chapter, take your time, you may even want to read the four Chapters before going ahead with this study.
  • In Chapter 2, Ruth decides to go glean the local fields that were being harvested by the reapers, as it was the time of the harvest.
  • Now her hap was to light on a part of the field that belonged to Boaz who was one of her near kinsmen, although she did not know that at the time.
  • When we get to verse 8 in Chapter 2, we see that Boaz had come to communicate with Ruth. He speaks to her with authority.  And His message is very important.
    • Boaz said, “Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens: Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them:” Ruth 2:8.
  • The field is the world, and the harvest is in the land where good seed had grown.
  • The children of the kingdom, which happens to be in the field that belongs to Boaz, a type of Christ who is the Son of man, the Son of God.
    • Study Matthew 1:16-20; 4:1-4; 9:6; 12:8; all of Chapter 13 or these main verses, :24, 37, 38, 44, 55.
    • The reapers are the Angels of God.
    • See Matthew 13:39.
  •  God is drawing his people, by His Holy Spirit, into His field on , as He did with Ruth, a virtuous woman. See Chapter 3 verse 11 in the book of Ruth.
  • God has a people that He is drawing into His field on earth. And when they enter His field, He requests that they go not into any other field, that is, into churches that are not His, nor are we to leave the field to go back into world.
  • Now Ruth is Gleaning on the good seed of God, His Word.
  • Therefore, there are other people that are working with the good seed, and it must not be the full truth of God’s Word.
  • Why? Because He Strongly asks the woman, His People, to stay in His field, other words to stay away from those other fields. God tells His people to stay by His maidens, His people, His Church.
  • How do we know if we are in the field of God?
  • Let’s read Revelations 14:12, for it says, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
    • The answer is, those that keep God’s commandments and have the faith of Jesus Christ are the people of God, His saints.
    • Anyone reading this, those that have ears let them here what the Scriptures are saying.
    • The Commandment of God are the Ten Commandments.
    • Through the faith of Jesus Christ, who is the one that leads us to His Field. When we are in His field, He will continue to lead you into all truth.
      • Read John 16:13, 4-16.
      • One Commandment that was set in time at creation was the 7th day Sabbath, which was sanctified, which mean made Holy. Yet it is the one that is rejected, by Satan’s deceit.
        • Study Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Hebrews Chapter 4. James 2:10; Revelation 12:9.
  • God’s Ten Commandments are Truth, written in stone, by the finger of God, and His people will keep all Ten of them, while in a faithful relationship with Jesus our Saviour, God’s Son, in whom He is well pleased, hear ye Him.
    • Note Matthew 17:5b.
  • Can you see that there are wonderful things to learn from God, in the book of Ruth?
  • If so, go over the second Chapter of Ruth again, with prayer, asking for the Holy Spirits guidance, in Jesus Holy name.
    • I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelations 22:16, 17.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,

I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,

but shall have the light of life.

John 8:12.
